I was hired to create a little GIF promo illustration for tonight’s episode of PORTLANDIA. I had to break it up into a four panel GIF comic to fit it on tumblr, but you can see the original version over here on my website.

Call For Entry: Fiber Fever

Entries for Fiber Fever, an exhibition highlighting the use of fiber arts as media and process toward artistic expression, are now being accepted at the Foundry Art Centre in Saint Charles, Missouri. Dyeing, stitching, surface design, weaving, embroidery, quilting, batik, felting, basketry, textile manipulation, soft sculpture and other mixed media artworks, two- or three-dimensional, utilizing fibers as their primary material will be considered for this exhibition.
Michigan-based artist and educator Mark Newport will jury the exhibition and award one $1000 Best In Show Award and three Group 3 Awards. All entries are due by Wednesday, June 25, 2014. The exhibition runs from August 8 – September 19, 2014 with an opening reception on Friday, August 8, 2014 from 6pm-8pm. Award winners will be announced at the opening reception. We’re happy to share some exciting news: the Library’s exhibit, The ABC of It: Why Children’s Books Matter, has been extended until September 7th! 

Please note that while the exhibition will be closed March 24th and 25th, lovers of children’s literature will be able to stop by the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building on 42nd Street for six more months! So if you haven’t seen this amazing collection of the world’s most beloved children’s books, you now have more time to! Bring a friend and stop by the exhibit soon!
